Find out why seafarers need your support

Seafarers UK visit MBDA

MBDA, a leading defence company and corporate supporter of Seafarers UK, recently invited staff from the charity to meet employees at their largest UK site based in Stevenage.

The charity’s staff, supported by the Stevenage Sea Cadets, spent time talking to MBDA employees about Seafarers UK’s work with seafarers and their families on a national and local level. It gave the employees an opportunity to hear how the company and its fundraising supports Seafarers UK and the people it helps.

Staff from Seafarers UK and the Cadets were delighted to have the opportunity to meet Rear Admiral Simon Charlier who was visiting MBDA that day in the company of Steve Wadey, MBDA UK Managing Director. Local MBDA employee, Margaret Coates, who is Officer in Charge of Stevenage Sea Cadets, reported that all the cadets really enjoyed the day.

The visit builds on the long-standing partnership with MBDA, who have supported the charity by raising over £76,000 through donations from their Charity Dinner and attending Seafarers UK’s Gala events.
